Lee Roy Selmon's life is a combination of football scholarship, family service as well as community involvement. The first time Selmon was brought up with Lucious as well as Jessie Selmon on the farm close to Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of the nine children they had. In football, he played with three of his brothers in Oklahoma. All three brothers were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the best lineman of the USA. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy as the starter. They also won two national championships. Selmon was an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third season in the year 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa and spent the next 9 years with the Buccaneers. Three times he was selected All-Pro. Then he began his business career. He was hired in 1988 as an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs when he played college football. He was a captain in 1975. was on the team. squad. In 1993, he was named as associate director at the University of South Florida. In 1988, he was voted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
