Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news website and a television host, author, and charitable donor. Originally from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then completed her studies at Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it before the age of 21. She was a conservative syndicated writer after graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a couple of years after, she created an online voice platform which offered critiques of politics. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several stars to voice their views on current events, as well as politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. She was named one of the Most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009 and was awarded the 12th spot on this list. That same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, a management consultant and journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her bond with her mother that formed her life. Even during her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still prominently known. At the age of 16 the girl moved to England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debate group. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she held the position of head for the Cambridge Union. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and as a host on television.
