Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN as well as HLN. She is a regular presenter on CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Before making the move to CNN, in June of 2015she worked for many local radio stations which included those in Atlanta and Nashville. She was a meteorologist for hurricanes and blizzards along with flooding and wildfires and was awarded an Emmy for the coverage she provided of Dorian, a hurricane that struck the Bahamas. Dorian which struck the Bahamas in 2019. Then she has covered her coverage of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, when more than 350 tornadoes struck across the Southeastern United States in just 4 days, and more than 200 tornadoes occurring on April 27th alone. Her experience as an environmental researcher has made it possible for her to publish stories regarding climate change and natural disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar has a bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science, which she obtained from The Ohio State University. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
